"Easy, breezy, beautiful"... MADE @ HOME;)

'Tis the season for gift giving, penetrating life changing EASY diy skincare, and of course, blending the two.
Mask 1

Mix:
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 of a singular itty bitty yogurt container (you know, the 1 of 6 itttty bitty bitty ones)
Cane Sugar to taste, for an exfoliant ( thicker and more "fine" than granulated sugar)
Apply.
Properties:
The lemon brightens the skin while evening out the skin tone and reducing inflammation. The yogurt is meant to be help with the glow, and the cane sugar acts as an exfoliant. It's abrasive, so use as little or as much as you need for your own specific skin type.
Mask 2
The Ever Famous, Korean Inspired Rice Mask for "Glass Skin" (popularized by TikTok)

This is my favorite mask in terms of ease. This is for all the girlies from the occasional lazies like me to the busy everday business mogul, and all you need to do is boil soft rice mush into a paste. Depending on skin type one can get away with not boiling rice so finely, in order to obtain an exfoliant rather than tightener/skin tone evener.
If you're a consistency snob like me, you can take the extra 30 seconds of a step to blend this up for a thicker, more even, paste like consistency.
Properties:
The rice water is simple yet effective. It's hard to believe it's worth anything at first, but if you remember those hefty, dense, clay and turmeric powder masks you had to add water to and make? It was this thick paste and on my skin it was itchy and actually dried my skin out even more causing a breakout, very disappointing. This homeade rice mask had half the density of the powdered ones, and better effects! I got nervous when my face felt a little itchy as the product dried, but it subsided alongside the moisture, and I actually really enjoyed feeling my face firm and tighten around my laughter at yet another rewatching of Schitt's Creek. It was noticeable yet comfortable. Once rinsed, the tightness remained and my skin was supple and glowing, just how I like it. Rice is also supposed to work to depuff eyes, so I'll be on the lookout for any improvement in that regard, but ice is the greatest hack I've ever used for puffy eyes, so I'll always keep that in the back pocket.
Mask 3

Mix:
1 Egg
1 Banana
Honey
1/2 Cucumber

This mask dries quickly and thinly, leaving a soft supple feel to skin! It makes a great everyday mask for the low intensity penetration and lack of harshness of the nutrients within the products.
Properties:
The egg tightens and brightens, and the egg whites within it specifically have the job of unclogging pores, which I think is pretty interesting. The banana brightens too, and evens out the skin tone while the honey helps moisturize and lighten hyperpigmentation. Cucumbers hold so much water that it has plenty to spare for our skin, and I found that one might even be able to make do with a 1/4 of a cucumber to make the mask...I ended up adding more cane sugar for consistency.
Mask 4

Mix:
Coffee to taste (some might suggest 1/4-1/2 a cup, however this time I used unused a couple Cappucinno pods for single use purposes)
Honey
1/2 lemon, juiced
Optional addition of Cane Sugar for consistency and exfoliating agents

Mix together and apply thin layer to skin, cleanse with warm water once dried.
Properties:
In addition to the other ingredients/properties explained above, and the huge plus of smelling like chocolate coffee cake all day, coffee is a natural exfoliant, aids in acne prevention, and depuffs eyes. The consistency is thin and would make an invigorating 10-15 minute morning mask while making a quick breakfast. Who doesn't love the smell of coffee in the morning?
Mask 5

Blend:
1/2 Cucumber
Honey
1/2 container of individual yogurt

Intentional double whammy with the proactivity of product usage (no moldy yogurt thank yewwww), and properties working together to do it's one and only job: soothe. Refrigerated and cooled, this is the mask I'd relax in while I'm zenning out...meditating, journaling, watching TV, etc...it's light and looks almost invisible when fully dried, similar to dried egg whites on a counter (iykyk).
I plan to venture out in the DIY skincare realm to see what useful hacks I can find, use, remix and apply to my own regimen. I very much look forward to being able to report back but in the meantime, I've got you covered on achieving that glowy, hydrated, tightened, soothed look you deserve as we approach the holidays, new year, and the events that come with it!
*Do research beforehand on personal skin types.. specific ingredients might not be suitable for all*
