Showpo's Fiery New Workwear Collection

Fits for your 9-5, then 5-9.

I've been a fan of Showpo since I was 16 years old, rifling through online fashion sites like Fashion Nova and Shein to splurge on my earnings from my then job's pay period. Even in high school, I was aware and cautious of weak or tacky looking garments, and I would let hours and days go by, taking my sweet time dissecting away until I found something up to par and on point with my limited budget and curiously wannabe authentic taste.
Having found Showpo as a last resort for my Sweet 16 to Mexico, I leaned into their unique yet very girly and tasteful options, which I was treading lightly with at the time, having formerly been a casual tomboy. Eventually I found a cute crimson romper I still think about, a dress, and a couple accesories. It's been years, but I'm still a follower and a fan, and having just seen their new collection release for the fellow worker baddies, I had to see how they evolved, and what newness, if any, they were bringing to the table. The collection is called "Office Siren" and has 233 items in it. From those, I styled 5 outfits, all day to night friendly.

This is a simple yet classic statement outfit made more for the comfort of one's day to day activities with shorts, as the matching pieces do majority of the heavy lifting. To go from day to night, a nice lightweight black double breasted blazer, or interestingly tied white or black button ups made off the shoulder as two other easy and effective casual layers. Sneakers are always a good add, with a baseball cap as another option for some athletic razzle dazzle. To dress it up, slide on those tighter calf high heels, pull some hair out your face in a cute half up half down with a claw clip, add some lip gloss and eyeshadow, and go be you part two!
You, after dark (;
2. Powder Puff Girl:
Thanks to Cinderella, this shade of blue will always have me feeling free, like royalty, beautiful as the blue skies. Blending in with the white and other blues in the oceans as they become flourishing waves. Pairs well with both silver and gold jewelry, but a statement piece is encouraged to showcase personality like a cute orangey- patterned scarf as a headwrap or neck tie moment. A textured platform wedge sandal or heel like this one adds that extra level of girly sophistication and confidence. To make this a night look add a black, navy or white oversized cropped denim jacket to play with the color palette and dimension.

3. Boho Country:
I see so much rustic cowgirl freshness in the vest layered with the much appreciated airflow in the tailored bohemian wide legged bottoms. I like how minimally styled the model was on the site with just the belt and assumedly some earrings because the set itself is such a statement and speaks for itself. It's also nightproof (needs no add-ons). It can stand on it's own, but would also look delicately charming with some stacked jingly bangles, a dainty necklace, and a headband. Alongside this oak brown color, they offer warm white, mocha, and oatmeal (tan) .

4. Modern Girl:
Today's young modern business woman meets nostalgic fashion trends with the here and now. I envision a 90's throwback halter top moment tucked in and met with the present that is the vibrance and freedom of splashy color choice in the pants. I see the freedom of the wide leg staking it's claim vs the temperature trapping skinny jean. If there's one thing the heat brings, it's a longing for breeze, so a wide leg and open shoulder are perfect for that.

5. The Girl Next Door Staple Fit

I liken my current fashion aesthetic to a Y2K vibe mixed in with a fictional character in the girl next door trope. Balancing my modern take and y2k aesthetic for today's everyday girl, I envision, if she is similar to me, having durable outfits flexing between athleisure as she cooks, runs errands or heads to yoga. Another day she's in a long floral flowy maxi dress, jeans and a romantic top ensemble the next (I've made a successful attempt at adding rocking all of the above, with more details and how-to's to come), and on a fairly regular occasion, she'll dress to the 9's, just for a solo day out or meet up with the girlies. Only recently have I felt confident enough to wear a bandeau, and now that I popped the seal, I'm always pushing it on friends and clients at my job. There isn't a single body who can't pull this off, and this comes from someone who was a huge doubter at first! I was nervous because a former cheer coach had told me on a couple occasions how broad my shoulders were, amongst other unneccessary comments from others, but the bandeau doesn't help or hurt the arms or shoulders in any specific way. It's just a really easy and nice solid summer garment to have that can be dressed up or down to ones liking.

I can appreciate the dreams that Showpo's designers had, and the girls they envisioned wearing their garments, but a good percentage of this collection is more on the night owl side, which isn't bad, but worth noting. There's always the option of bringing layers like bodycon long sleeves or cropped short sleeves and leggings/pantyhose for underneath, assuming the end result aligns with your company's dress code policy. I rate this collection an 8 out of 10; a lot of looks did the styling work for us yet still leaves room for indivuality and most of the items look up to par in terms of trendiness, which is great. They're on trend with something for every aesthetic, but I docked two points because there were unfortunately more than a few items reigning on the tacky side as well as some redundant garments, and when asking for 50+ an item, quality and selection are not things to be stingy on.
I'm happy for Showpo and how far they've come in almost 10 years, they've surpassed over a million Instagram followers and even more in sales, and most favorably, they're doing us girly girl's proud. Time will tell what the future holds for them, and surely enough I will be following them every step of the way.
