Where I've Been

It's been a while! I don't know where the time went, but I'll catch you up on what you might have missed, here's the timeline:

January
Second semester classes start. I choose Personal Nutrition, a Biology class, Contemporary Ethical issues, a Philosophy class and Crisis Intervention a Psychology class. The hardest class is Personal Nutrition because its a lot of memorization, math and formulas, and I've never been good at any of those, but Crisis Intervention is my favorite, I relay what I learn to my everyday life with my friends and family. Finally, Contemporary Ethical Issues is very eye opening because we talk about everyday relevant topics like politics, poverty, ehics and more. I always leave feeling a little bit more aware of the world and it's a good feeling, even if the news isn't always what I want to hear.
January I had the privelage of interning for a fashion consulting company in New York. Part of the internship involved me taking the bus down to New York to stay with family friends and interning at a fashion show consisting of many other shows including Plus size/curve, Kids 9-15,and Mens. I arrived at the Pennsylvania Hotel at 5:45 a.m on a Saturday, in search for the nearest starbucks before meeting the rest of my team.
I was pleasantly surprised! We had a small turnout of 4 other girls in my fashion department along with video technicians, photographers, and just general members there to set up the layout of the room. We got to work immediately, helped set up the room, get buttons for contestants, check in the models, seat the parents, make sure the models were ready, call the show, instruct the model oon when to go on the runway, and do all of this in a flowing manner. We were so behind in time the show didn't finish until 12:00 a.m, and the audience was understandably tired and annoyed, it was honestly a lot of unpleasant pressure. I couldn't help feeling I'd be a better fit as one of the models, The thought stuck with me, and on my way back home, I called and resigned from my position as a fashion stylist to try and do something more flashy and look oriented.
There aren't many modeling agencines in New Hampshire at all, so I reached out to the director of my local pageant for help on where to start. Immediately we started talking hair, makeup, gowns, interview, pageant shoes and more. It was exhilarating. I was ready for all the new lessons, friends and confidence it would bring.

February
February I got sick of the never ending winter that is New Hampshire. I applied to the University of Tampa, the complete opposite of NH and waited.

March
I got in! I wasn't expecting it because I didn't try very hard in high school, but it changed in college and it showed and paid off! Because I wasn't sure I'd make it in I didn't do too much research, but when I did I found that the cost would be over $100,000. In order to be able to attend UT I'll be joining ROTC National Guard and I couldn't be more nervous and excited, but I've been told that's how I know that's the thing to do.
I hope you'll join me on my upcoming journey!
